Esta especie ha sido clasificada como VULNERABLE seg\u00fan la revisi\u00f3n de UICN en 2014, encontr\u00e1ndose en el Ap\u00e9ndice II de CITES. La mayor amenaza que enfrenta es la degradaci\u00f3n de su h\u00e1bitat por grandes incendios y cambio de uso del suelo en el Chaco.<!--more-->\nFirst filming of a giant anteater made from a drone in the Paraguayan Chaco.\u00a0In the framework of the <strong>FIUNA\u00a0Project 14-INV 292 \u00abMonitoring of Mammals in the Chaco with Camera Traps\u00bb<\/strong>. Researchers form Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda of UNA were able to film the\u00a0team a great specimen of giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla).\u00a0This species has been classified as VULNERABLE according to the IUCN review in 2014, and is listed in Appendix II of CITES.\u00a0The biggest threat it faces is the degradation of its habitat by large wildfires and land use change in the Chaco.
