A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of the Effects of Food Safety and Hygiene Training on Food Handlers. Foods 2020, 9, 1169<\/em>. Art\u00edculo que de manera general, consisti\u00f3 en evaluar los efectos del entrenamiento en inocuidad alimentaria con relaci\u00f3n al conocimiento, las actitudes y las pr\u00e1cticas de los manipuladores de alimentos. Esto se logr\u00f3 mediante la revisi\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica y exhaustiva de la literatura y se realiz\u00f3 un estudio meta-anal\u00edtico que sirvi\u00f3 como soporte estad\u00edstico al an\u00e1lisis descriptivo. Se analizaron casos de estudios (aplicaciones pr\u00e1cticas) de industrias en todo el mundo, en diferentes etapas de la cadena alimentaria (del campo a la mesa), que fueron publicados en revistas cient\u00edficas peer-review en el periodo de tiempo comprendido entre enero de 1997 y diciembre de 2019.\nPara realizar el trabajo, se sigui\u00f3 la metodolog\u00eda PRISMA y se utiliz\u00f3 el lenguaje de programaci\u00f3n R. El art\u00edculo cuenta con 139 referencias bibliogr\u00e1ficas. La revista corresponde al primer cuartil (Q1), en el \u00e1rea Food Science and Technology, del Journal Citation Report (JCR); el indicador de calidad m\u00e1s conocido y valorado por los organismos de evaluaci\u00f3n de la actividad investigadora a nivel mundial. Adicionalmente, la revista se encuentra indizada en 17\nbases de datos a nivel internacional incluyendo Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, entre otros. De esta manera, posiciona a \u201cFoods\u201d entre las revistas m\u00e1s prestigiosas a nivel mundial en el \u00e1rea por su alto factor de impacto.\n\n\n<h3>Abstract<\/h3>\n\n\nFoodborne diseases are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Studies have shown that the knowledge, attitude, and practices of food handlers are important factors in preventing foodborne illness. The purpose of this research is to assess the effects of training interventions on knowledge, attitude, and practice on food safety and hygiene among food handlers at different stages of the food supply chain. To this end, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis with close adherence to the PRISMA guidelines. We searched for training interventions among food handlers in five databases. Randomized control trials (RCT), quasi-RCTs, controlled before\u2013after, and nonrandomized designs, including pre\u2013post studies, were analyzed to allow a more comprehensive\nassessment. The meta-analysis was conducted using the random-effects model to calculate the effect sizes (Hedges\u2019s g) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Out of 1094 studies, 31 were included. Results showed an effect size of 1.24 (CI = 0.89\u20131.58) for knowledge, an attitude effect size of 0.28 (CI = 0.07\u20130.48), and an overall practice effect size of 0.65 (CI = 0.24\u20131.06).
