The population has become aware of the importance of this problem and has demanded more decisive action from public institutions to solve it. The alternatives that are being offered to solve this problem start today with a comprehensive management approach and put a lot of emphasis on the sustainability of the solutions within legal instruments. \u00a0 Final disposal of waste adopts particular characteristics in small towns and in rural areas, due to factors such as: the lack of resources, by the almost generalized subsidy of the cleaning service; the absence of information on the negative consequences of landfills; ignorance of joint solutions which reduce implementation and operation costs of manual fillings; the appropriate technology to dispose the waste without incurring into \u00a0greater costs of investment and operation; and the absence of knowledge about how to deal with the problem of inadequate final disposal of waste.\nEl impacto negativo de la disposici\u00f3n final inadecuada de los residuos sobre el medio ambiente y la salud es cada vez m\u00e1s evidente en nuestro pa\u00eds. La poblaci\u00f3n ha tomado conciencia de la importancia de este problema y ha exigido una acci\u00f3n m\u00e1s decidida de las instituciones p\u00fablicas para solucionarlo. Las alternativas que se est\u00e1n ofreciendo para solucionar este problema parten hoy con un enfoque de gesti\u00f3n integral y ponen mucho \u00e9nfasis en la sostenibilidad de las soluciones dentro de los instrumentos legales.
