Mecatr\u00f3nico Ricardo Romero<\/strong>, estudiante de la <strong>Maestr\u00eda en Ciencias de la Inteligencia Artificial<\/strong> de la <strong>Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda de la Universidad Nacional de Asunci\u00f3n (FIUNA),<\/strong> present\u00f3 el trabajo cient\u00edfico <em>\u201cEffects of Missing EMG Channels on Muscle Synergy Analysis\u201d<\/em> en la <strong>International Conference on NeuroRehabilitation (ICNR 2026)<\/strong>, realizada del 29 de septiembre al 2 de octubre en Se\u00fal, Corea del Sur. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El trabajo analiza el efecto que produce la p\u00e9rdida de canales de electromiograf\u00eda (EMG) sobre el an\u00e1lisis de sinergias musculares, utilizadas para estudiar la coordinaci\u00f3n neuromuscular. La investigaci\u00f3n eval\u00faa diferentes m\u00e9todos computacionales y busca contribuir al desarrollo de modelos capaces de trabajar con registros de EMG incompletos.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el encuentro, Romero comparti\u00f3 con dos de sus cotutores, el <strong>Dr. Diego Torricelli,<\/strong> investigador del BioRobotics Group del Centro de Autom\u00e1tica y Rob\u00f3tica (CAR CSIC-UPM), Espa\u00f1a, y el <strong>Dr. Giacomo Severini<\/strong>, investigador de University College Dublin, Irlanda, con quienes trabaja en esta l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de los momentos destacados de la participaci\u00f3n se produjo durante la sesi\u00f3n de p\u00f3steres, cuando el <strong>Prof. B.J. Fregly<\/strong> se acerc\u00f3 a conocer el trabajo presentado. El encuentro dio lugar a un intercambio cient\u00edfico y una discusi\u00f3n sobre los resultados y las posibilidades de continuar desarrollando la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Fregly es Trustee Professor de Rice University, PhD en Ingenier\u00eda Mec\u00e1nica por Stanford University y ganador del Borelli Award 2026, m\u00e1ximo reconocimiento otorgado por la American Society of Biomechanics. Asimismo, es Fellow del American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), distinci\u00f3n que reconoce aproximadamente al 2 % m\u00e1s destacado de profesionales de la ingenier\u00eda m\u00e9dica y biol\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n<p>La participaci\u00f3n en la ICNR 2026 permiti\u00f3 presentar los resultados de la investigaci\u00f3n ante especialistas internacionales, intercambiar experiencias con referentes del \u00e1rea y fortalecer v\u00ednculos de colaboraci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica.\u00a0El trabajo es desarrollado por el Ing. Ricardo Romero, bajo la tutor\u00eda del Dr. Diego Galeano y la cotutor\u00eda de los Dres.
